The city of Hanoi has just launched a sustainable agricultural development strategy over the period 2022-2030 with a vision until 2050, counting on more than 70% of high-tech agricultural products by 2030.
The city plans to restructure its agricultural sector, promote the development of modern agriculture, clean agriculture, organic agriculture, the circular economy in association with the development of the agro-food industry, adaptation to climate change and the sustainable connection with the global agricultural value chain.
In doing so, Hanoi strives to promote agricultural sectors and products with high added value; improve productivity, quality, efficiency and competitiveness related to the processing and marketing of agricultural products.
The city has also set itself the objective of developing a modern and sustainable commercial agriculture linked to the construction of the new rurality in the direction of ecological agriculture, modernized rural areas and civilized farmers; to raise added value, to develop large-scale market production based on the strengths of each locality.
By 2030, the regional gross domestic product (GRDP) of agricultural, forestry and aquatic products in Hanoi is expected to grow by 2.5 to 3% on average annually, and labor productivity by 7 to 7.5%.
The city will focus on the renovation and improvement of the capacity and efficiency of public management, the renovation and development of forms of organization of production, the effective deployment and management of planning, the promotion scientific research and technology transfer, digital transformation, promotion of agricultural products and capacity for international integration.
